Cirque Du Soleil: Kooza

Our flight back from Michigan was LONG, it took us 6 hours to get back. Luckily Jasper and Jayna did great on the flight back. TO Michigan was another story...for the first time Jasper was scared on the airplane. I think part of it was we took a red eye--so he was tired and it was dark out. Since you lose time going east we got there and Chad hadn't slept at all and Jasper had only slept an hour. Jayna was GREAT, she fell asleep at SFO and didn't wake up until we got to Detroit.

Anyway, on the way home I had it in my head that we would swing by and pick up a Christmas tree so it would be up for our fiddle jam the next day. Our flight got in late though, and that put us in bad Friday traffic going over the Bay Bridge....but we did it anyway! We had gotten decorations before the trip so we would have them all ready to go. The tree getting went smoothly but when we started decorating the tree the next morning the brand new lights didn't work! it was SO frustrating...Chad had to go return them but then they didn't have the same ones anymore....ugh, it really turned out to be more of an ordeal than tree decorating should be. BUT we did it, we got the tree up and decorated and I made chili for the potluck/fiddle jam and it was so much fun. We love having our students over and having all the music and food in the house. After the kids left, Jasper said "I miss the kids, I want them to come back"

The day after that we had tickets to go see the new Cirque Du Soleil show Kooza with Mark and Olivia! It was our first time taking Jasper to see a Cirque show, so we were super excited. It was especially fun because at home Jasper has been saying, "I know how to juggle" and he'll throw the balls up in the air and move his hands around like he's juggling. It's VERY cute. So it was fun to show him Cirque juggling. Jayna, surprise, surprise, slept through the whole thing. I thought maybe she would sleep through half of it and the other half I would be standing up with her or even outside the tent, but no she slept through the whole thing.

After Cirque we jetted up to Pt. Reyes because Chad had a gig and it was lovely because Mark and Olivia joined us for that too!
